Program Mission
The Computer Information Systems department is committed to providing technical computer education programs to assist in the institution's mission. Students in the CIS program may choose the Network/Computer Technician or Web Programmer major.
Interested In CIS?
Those interested in CIS should work, dress, and act in a professional manner; enjoy working with computers and other office equipment; like to solve logical and situational problems; and have the ability to get along with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
Job Possibilities

What You Will Learn
Through the Computer Information Systems program at NTI, you will learn to: Meet the demands of a rapidly changing computer field, develop the necessary professional attitudes and appearance to compete in the business world, work with others, both employers and customers, to obtain and keep a good job in the business field.
Computer Information Systems Objectives
- To obtain skills necessary to gain employment in entry level positions in technical computer fields.
- To become familiar with a safe working environment using current equipment and software.
- To develop good work and attendance habits and attitudes necessary in a professional environment.
- To provide an opportunity to learn leadership and teamwork skills through class projects and involvement in the vocational student organization.
- To recognize the importance and opportunities of continuing education.
Length of Program: Two Semesters, One Summer Term, and an Internship
